EFL teacher\'s strategies in teaching reading comprehension in senior high school during Covid-19 / Gandazeta Wikandana
Abstrak
Reading is one of the most important language skills for students to learn. In this pandemic COVID-19 situation it is important to know the appropriate strategy for teaching reading because the online learning strategy is different from the offline strategy. The aim of this study is to know how the teacher teaches in online learning by implementing a case study method. The subject of this study is one of English teacher in SMAN 1 Ngunut. The instruments for this research are an observation checklist and an interview guide. Findings show that the English teacher has used two teaching strategies which are the silent reading strategy and reading aloud strategy. The silent reading strategy has the advantage of making the students enjoyed and relax the reading process. As for reading aloud strategy it has the advantage of making the students could be more focused to follow the teaching and learning process.
