The role of information and communication technology in ELF students’ writing creativity development / Dicky Manggala

Abstrak
This study investigates students rsquo perceptions on the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in their writing creativity development during learning process within the context of Indonesian higher education. It employed a descriptive quantitative design and involved 30 English department students as research participants. The findings revealed that students are aware of the role of ICT in their writing creativity development. ICT appears to help them explore their ideas in writing and develop their creativity in writing in a way that it helps correct grammatical errors paraphrase sentences with unique contents provides readable writing contents and provides follow feature making the students able to connect with experts/authors to get inspiration from them. However future research are needed to investigate the pedagogy of ICT use in the writing process by doing classroom observations and identify how the students integrate ICT into their writing creativity development.
