Think-pair-share strategy to enhance tenth grader\'s writing skills in recount text / Lia Syafiun Nada
Abstrak
This action research aimed to enhance the tenth-grade vocational school students in writing recount text by implementing a Think-pair-share (TPS) strategy. This research conducted in two cycles because the first cycle was not successful to improve the students rsquo writing skill in recount text. It was including the three stages of activities namely 1) Think stage 2) Pair stage and 3) Share stage. The TPS was carried out trough the online learning using the WhatsApp Group Google Classroom and Google Meet with thirty students of X RPL 2 SMKN 2 Singosari Malang as the participants. The data were collected using questionnaires interviews observation sheets and writing tests. The result shows the improvement in the students rsquo writing and the class interaction. The students rsquo writing improvement was indicated by the increase of mean score from 59.2 in pre-test to 70.53 in cycle 1 and 81.87 in cycle 2. Moreover from the interviews and questionnaire reflected the students rsquo engagement was indicated by their active participation and interaction in the TPS strategy implementation. It can be concluded that the TPS strategy can help the students in enhancing their writing ability especially in writing recount text.
