The vocabulary learning strategies employed by students of Universitas Negeri Malang / M. Rasikhul Alim

Abstrak
This research was aimed at examining the vocabulary strategies used by the English department students of Universitas Negeri Malang . The research design used in this study is survey research design with a questionnaire as the instrument. The subjects of this research were 86 students of English. ). learning strategies can be categorized into two groups namely discovery strategy and consolidation strategy. Then it can be further classifying those strategies into 5 sub aspects. namely determination memory social cognitive and metacognitive. . The instrument consists of several questions used to help to find the answer of the research questions. The data were collected from students of English department in the sixth semester The data were analysed by using descriptive analysis The result found that the determination strategies have the highest effectiveness in term of the usage in learning vocabulary while social strategies with the lowest average response
