Speech acts in the competency-based and the behavioural event interviews on questions in culinary job interview dialogues / Raden Syahriyan Ananda Dwi Putra
Abstrak
This research is focused on knowing the types bases and functions of speech acts in job interview dialogues with Competency Based Interview (CBI) and Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) methods. The purpose of this research is to determine the existence of locutions illocutions and perlocutions in job interview dialogues. Then regrouping them based on the form of speech acts divided into three aspects namely declarative interrogative and imperative. In conducting this research the researcher conducted research using a qualitative method with a descriptive design. The data was obtained by using a google form. The first was intended for HRD to get interview questions and the second was for the employees as the respondents to answer questions. Furthermore the data then categorize by using the theory of speech acts. The results of this research reveal that there are three types of speech acts found which are Locutions Illocutions and Perlocutions there are three Bases of speech acts found which are Declaratives Interrogatives and Imperatives and there are also five Functions of speech acts found which are Directives Representatives Expressives Declaratives and Commusives. It can finally be concluded that CBI questions tend to use more locutions and illocutionary because they intend to ask for explanations and order to explain further while BEI uses more perlocutionary and locutionary it is suggested that further researchers can use this result as reference to their researches and for those job seekers can also use this research as reference in facing job interviews
