Keywords Teacher s Perspective Gallery Walk Learning Strategy Senior High School Gallery walk is a learning strategy that teachers can use to improve students writing skills. Galery walk is a good strategy to be applied in teaching writing material. It can be an alternative to teach writing especially on material relating to narrative descriptive and recount text. This study aimed to investigate the teacher s perspective on the gallery walk learning strategy to improve students writing skills. This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive study. The instruments applied were questionnaire and an interview guide. The questionnaire consists of 3 variables and 22 indicators while the interview guide consists of 21 questions need to be answered by the teachers. The instruments were addressed to the English teachers of senior high school in SMAN 2 Malang SMAN 5 Malang SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. Eight English teachers from the three schools mentioned were proposed as respondents. The findings and discussions of this study showed that seven teachers (87.5%) strongly agree and one teacher (12.5%) agree that by implementing gallery walk learning strategy in writing learning students writing mastery increased. The teacher stated that this strategy can help the teacher explained writing material easily and clearly they can easily supervise assess and evaluate the learning process and this strategy can help the teacher to make the class conducive to learning. In addition in implementing the gallery walk the teachers argued that the steps that need to be taken are not difficult and do not require difficult teaching materials. Furthermore the results of questionnaires and interviews showed that the gallery walk can help improve students writing skills related to vocabulary grammar text organization word choice punctuation. The study revealed that the scores on their writing materials were also better after the teacher used the gallery walk learning strategy in the learning process. This had been proven by the English teacher of Muhammadiyah 1 Malang who had analyzed the results of this students rsquo pre-test and post-test after implementing this strategy. The researcher concluded that the gallery walk learning strategy was a good strategy to be applied in teaching writing material. It can be an alternative to teach writing especially on material relating to narrative descriptive and recount text. However in its use there were several things that teachers needed to pay attention. For instance the teacher must be able to manage the time and class as well as the selection of the right material to be applied to this strategy.
