Reading comprehension ability of the eleventh graders of islamic senior high schools / Muhammad Farris Indrajaya

Abstrak
Reading is a must-have ability in the information and technological era. However reading ability alone cannot satisfy students academic and future careers. Reading comprehension ability is an essential factor because having the ability to read is not the same as having the ability to decipher the meaning of a written text. This study aims to describe the reading comprehension level of the eleventh graders in MAN 1 and MAN 2 Blitar. A descriptive quantitative method was used. The data was gathered using a reading comprehension test and a survey questionnaire. The test result showed that the reading comprehension ability of the eleventh graders in MAN 1 and MAN 2 Blitar is at B2 of the CEFR level. Moreover based on the data collected through an online survey It is known that higher achiever students have better study habits higher learning motivation levels and are more exposed to the English language through song games and film than low achiever students.
