Developing a website as a supplementary digital writing platform for the undergraduate students / Haidir Algi Gaffar Faridha

Abstrak
Essay writing is an intricate task for English department students. Because of the COVID-19 epidemic the course rsquo s teaching and learning process which employs the process writing approach had to be conducted entirely online. However it could not be well-executed because the needs analysis indicated that the lecturers and students lacked a supplementary digital platform with relevant resources to practice essay writing gradually. The current Research and Development (R amp D) study was conducted to address the problem of the essay writing course at Universitas Negeri Malang. A website as a supplementary digital writing platform was created to assist students in practising expository essays. RE-WRITE is developed to support the five phases of the method planning drafting revising editing and publishing. Each stage of the process writing approach is equipped with supporting features based on the needs analysis including model essays with topics related to the major a feedback section a paraphrasing tool a grammar error detector and a plagiarism checker available on the connected links and an archive feature. As a result two experts validated that the website has excellent content program operation design and layout. Finally the product try-out result witnessed that the twenty users were satisfied with the help and good quality of integrated features in RE-WRITE hence the website is ready for distribution and implementation.
