Students’ Perception Toward Siscord As an Online Learning Platform in Speaking Class During The Covid-19 Pandemic / Tiffany Indira Metasari

Abstrak
Due to the pandemic of Covid-19 the learning process needs to be done Online. The pandemic becomes a challenge for English teachers especially in teaching speaking because there is no interaction among the students. Many platforms have been introduced to support online classes and one of them is Discord. This research aims to find the students perception of Discord as a platform for teaching Speaking. The research used quantitative methods with some elements of qualitative data. The researcher gathered the qualitative data to follow up on the quantitative data. The data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire consists of 20 questions with 3 open-ended questions. Most of the students perceive Discord positively. The students agreed that using Discord in speaking class is more comfortable. There are a lot of benefits of using Discord in Speaking class. Discord is a suitable learning platform to use in speaking classes. The use of Discord in speaking class is very efficient and effective.
