Students’ perception of collaborative writing as a method to improve students’ writing skill / Puja Hirdila Anis Sa\'diyah

Abstrak
Collaborative writing has become a common learning method. This approach encourages teamwork throughout the writing process from planning to the final text. Therefore this study s goal was to discover how students perceived collaborative writing. 27 students in grade ten SMAN 1 Terbanggi Besar were given an online questionnaire to complete as part of a survey research study to learn more about this perception. The outcome demonstrated the students rsquo favourable opinion of collaborative writing. The collaborative writing method according to the students improved their writing. The majority of students agreed that collaborative writing positively affected their writing skills. Some students however had a negative perception of collaborative writing since it took more time than individual writing. However Collaborative Writing is a good method that can be applied by teachers to improve students writing skills. To reduce obstacles of collaborative writing teachers must carefully examine the situations academic levels and backgrounds of their students while creating exercises.
