Students’ perception toward English teachers’ professional competence during Covid-19 / Loka Jaya

Abstrak
Due to covid-19 outbreak education in Indonesia was advanced one step forward. Previously teacher and student would conduct the learning activity face to face in school and right now teacher started using online media as to conduct the lesson. Thus student perception toward teacher professional competence was needed on how their learning activity conducted. This study aim to discover students rsquo perception of teacher professional competence. The subjects were 83 highschool students grade XI at SMA N 1 Grogol Kediri. The research design used to collect the data was survey and the instrument given to the participants was a set of questionnaire. The result of this study shows that from 4 indicators which is teacher mastery developing learning materials classroom management and the use of ICT from those indicators mentioned students respond with always and often are combined and the result was 77.26% students feels that their teacher effectively and efficiently conducted the learning activity well during COVID-19. In conclusion this study found that students in SMAN 1 Grogol Kediri have a Positive perception toward their teacher during COVID-19
