Abstrak
This article investigates students attitudes towards using English songs as learning media. The qualitative research method was used in this study with interviews serving as the data collection instrument. Six students from SMA Negeri 10 Malang provided data for this study. The participants were chosen using convenience sampling as they were chosen based on their willingness to be interviewed. All study participants agreed that song is a good medium for learning English as they can gain a better understanding of the English language in areas such as pronunciation listening vocabulary and writing (especially figurative language). However one participant suggested that instead of selecting old songs the teacher should choose trending or viral songs that are relevant to current students. They claimed that some old songs lyrics are difficult for them to understand. It can be concluded that English songs are appropriate for use as English learning media in the classroom if they are related to and appropriate for the students age.
