An analysis of language style used by the main character in the intern movie / Sofie Primalia Serafin
Abstrak
Language styles are related to somebody rsquo s social background. In The Intern (2015) movie the two main characters Jules Ostin and Ben Whittaker are of very different age and role. Therefore when they rsquo re interacting there will be different kinds of language variations This research tries to describe language styles used by the main characters in The Intern movie explore the dominant language styles performed and discover the social factors behind the choices of language styles. This research use content analysis as the research design in which the data is collected via note-taking and observation. As for the data this research focuses on looking at dialogues performed by two main characters in The Intern Movie. To analyze the data it primarily uses Martin Joos rsquo The Styles of Five O rsquo Clock (1976) while probably underlying factors of its choices. The outcome are the analysis of the type of language styles that are used by the main characters through the dialogue and conversation in The Intern movie the factors that influence the choices of language styles and the dominant language style performed by the main characters.
