The teaching of report text by using instagram to the tenth graders / Yona Fauzia Salsabila

Abstrak
Writing is one of the fundamental English skills that students must master but it is one of the most difficult skills. One of the difficulties in writing is the student cannot express or realize their ideas in written form and do not know what to write. Students can write a text if they have an idea. One of the ways to get an idea is by using pictures. Pictures are valuable to center the students rsquo consideration on the content. A picture on Instagram can help students focus their attention by allowing them to imagine it. Students can use their imagination to build their ideas. The purpose of this research is to utilize Instagram to teach writing report text in senior high school. The subjects of this research were tenth grade students of SMAN 4 Malang. The researcher utilized descriptive qualitative method of research. She observed and noted the teaching and learning process of report text writing using Instagram. The researcher also used questionnaire to know the students rsquo responses to the use of Instagram as Media. The result shows that the implementation of teaching writing report text by using Instagram has six steps and 85 7 % of students agreed Instagram is applied to learn writing.
