Ecological adaptation and conservation actions for community-based ecotourism on wangi-wangi island, wakatobi regency / Marlina

Abstrak
The potential of natural resources and the use of nature by wise and wise people are the main capital of an area for ecotourism development. Applying the concept of ecotourism is a tourism product that prioritizes environmental aspects by maximizing the potential of nature as the main brand that is sold. Therefore analyzing the potential of available natural resources is the first step that can be taken to achieve the aspired goals. The focus of this research is (1) how is the socio-economic adaptation strategy of Bajo mola fishermen in the Wakatobi National Park area (2) how is the traditional value of using cave water for sustainable ecotourism in Wakatobi Regency Indonesia (3) how to manage ecotourism based on local wisdom for optimizing functions. cave water resources as prevention of floods and droughts in Wakatobi Regency Indonesia and (4) how to increase environmental awareness for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) through an edu-ecotourism project for cave water potential in Wakatobi Regency Indonesia In general the method in this research is a qualitative research. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews participant observation to observe potential and then analyzed by SWOT analysis and documentation. Research subjects or informants in this study were selected by purposive sampling from various sources circles namely from the local government academics community leaders and traditional leaders . The results of the study revealed that (1) Wakatobi National Park is a protected area and its strategic position as a tourism area has encouraged an increase in the fisheries sector. The strategy of social and economic adaptation in the management of marine resources in Wakatobi National Park is the development of the fisheries sector with the presence of entrepreneurs and the ease of obtaining capital. (2) For the Wanci people the tradition of utilizing cave water resources is at least used as a traditional asset. The whole tradition is a requirement of meaning. In particular the use of cave water for ldquo Ufe Karia rdquo reflects conservative behavior indigenous peoples in protecting the culture customs and water resources of the cave. (3) It is known that there are 3 forms of local wisdom about cave water conservation namely (a) Ufe Karia (b) Imaeka and (c) Sala piara (negligence of care). The existence of these three forms of local wisdom is a community effort in preserving cave water and optimizing the function of cave water as a flood and drought prevention. (4) Education in ecotourism (edu-ecotourism) the potential of cave water resources provides understanding to visitors especially school children (students) through traveling while learning activities. The management of edu-ecotourism through a natural laboratory is a place to increase environmental awareness for students to recognize the potential of the area. The goal of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in edu-ecotourism is to build students attitudes and behavior to be able to act pro-environmentally according to the 12 SDGs target 12.8 and the 13 SDGs target 13.3.
