Students\' perception of bookworm adventure video game as a medium for learning vocabulary / Adam De Fretes
Abstrak
Bookworm Adventure is an education game that aims at creating fun vocabulary learning while also increasing children rsquo s vocabulary size. This research objective is to investigate the eighth graders rsquo perception of the use of the Bookworm Adventure video game as a medium for learning vocabulary. This research involved 27 of the eighth-grade students in SMPN 4 Malang. The data were collected through an observation checklist and an opinionnaire. The purpose of the observation checklist is to find out (1) students rsquo perceptions on Bookworm Adventure rsquo s difficulty (2) students rsquo perceptions on Bookworm Adventure rsquo s vocabulary (3) how Bookworm Adventure affect students rsquo motivation and (4) students rsquo perception on Bookworm Adventure as a medium to learn vocabulary. The results of the research show that the Bookworm Adventure has a positive impact on increasing students rsquo vocabulary size. In addition Bookworm Adventure helps not only to increase students rsquo vocabulary size but also create a fun and exciting vocabulary learning.
