The effect of financial literacy and financial behaviour on financial satisfaction among millennial-age employees at pt eka akar jati / Evelyn Isfa Fernanda

Abstrak
Workers in Indonesia face many challenges in the financial sector especially in achieving financial satisfaction especially the millennial generation. This situation is caused by bad financial behaviour. This study aims to understand how financial literacy and behaviour affect individuals financial satisfaction especially millennial workers. This study used a non-probability sampling technique (purposive sampling) on 50 workers belonging to the millennial age group at PT Eka Akar Jati. In addition this study used multiple linear regression and identified using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of this study indicate that financial literacy has a positive effect on financial satisfaction but financial behaviour has no effect on financial satisfaction. Nevertheless both financial literacy and financial behaviour simultaneously affect financial satisfaction. This research shows that millennial workers at PT Eka generally have good financial literacy and financial behaviour. Nevertheless PT Eka Akar Jati employees still feel less financially satisfied because there is a gap between their expectations (standards of individual financial satisfaction) and the reality of managing their financial resources. This research implies that even with good financial literacy and financial behaviour millennial employees at PT Eka Akar Jati still need to improve their literacy and behaviour on finance. With more responsibility and wisdom they can make the right financial decision in the future to obtain financial satisfaction.
