Genre and conflict analysis of Sidney Sheldon\'s tell me your dreams / Maharani Yunanda Damayanti

Abstrak
This study aims to analyze the struggle that Ashley Patterson a character in the novel Tell Me Your Dreams experiences as well as the genre typology. Conflict was split into two categories internal conflict and external conflict. The criteria of Detective Fiction by Tzvetan Todorov were then used by the author to analyze the genre of this book which deals with psychological difficulties. In addition to Todorov s criteria Foster s theory of character was applied in this investigation. The results of this study demonstrate that the book is classified as belonging to the thriller and whodunit subgenres
