Non-javanese speakers’ perception toward javanese language in Denny Caknan’s ambyar songs / Ryan Fauzi

Abstrak
Language has a role in forming power in a song s lyrics. Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs that use Javanese as the lyrics have succeeded in captivating listeners especially in this case non-Javanese speakers. This study aims to find the linguistic aspects which are contained in the lyrics of Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs that make non-Javanese speakers like and get attracted to the most and also the role of Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs in the way non-Javanese speakers understand Javanese language. In order to produce clear accurate and detailed research results a descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. The data collection process is in the form of a questionnaire that is aimed to non-Javanese speakers and contains descriptions and multiple choices. It was found that the fragments of song lyrics with pure Javanese expressions code mixing and rhyme became the main linguistic aspects which were contained in the lyrics of Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs. Meanwhile some of the lyrics of Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs were remembered by non-Javanese speakers so the lyrics were uttered with different frequencies in everyday life. As a result Denny Caknan s Ambyar songs were also found to have influenced the way non-Javanese speakers learned and used Javanese language.
