Grammar lecturers\' and teachers’ perception towards grammar teaching videos in tiktok / Ruhul Ainun Husna

Abstrak
Teaching grammar using TikTok is very popular. There have been many studies examining the effectiveness of TikTok videos as a grammar learning media. However there has not been any study that investigates the quality of grammar learning videos on TikTok. This study use case study design aimed at evaluating the quality of two grammar teaching videos from TikTok whether or not they meet the criteria of Grammar teaching video. The two videos were choosed based on some criteria made by the researcher. Then they were examined by Grammar teacher and lecturers using assessment rubric adapted from Prince Edward Island (PEI) Department of Education Evaluation and Selection of Learning Resources. It consists of three criteria content instructional design and technical design. The results show that teacher and lecturers agree that the two videos meet the criteria with approximately 28% strongly agree 46.5% agree 18% disagree and 6.5% stated that the criteria are not available in the video. Based on the results it is suggested for TikTok-based grammar material developers to double-check their videos before uploading them to avoid any errors. For the teachers who aimed to use these two videos it is suggested to give assistance during the learning so that teacher can directly interact and provoke student activity. Last for the future researcher it is suggested to conduct a follow up interview or try out the videos to students in order to get a deeper dive into the data so that it can enrich the findings.
