Familiarity of gaming community with gaming slangs and terms in discord application / Irfan Naufal Wahyu Widyanto

Abstrak
This research aims to find out how many slangs gamers have known how many slangs have been used in the game context and how many slangs are used outside gaming context. This research is started because there are increasing number of slangs used in games which occur not only on gaming context but also in many other contexts. The research is of the qualitative type which uses questionnaire to obtain the data needed. The result of the data analysis shows that GG is known the most and WTT is the least known. Lag is the most used slang which creates a gap why GG the most known slang is used less than lag. WTT itself since it is the least known is linear with the result which WTT is the least used. From all respondents 86% of the respondents admitted that they use a few of those slangs and terms outside gaming context.
