Abstrak
This study analyzes the main character of the movie The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) Chris Gardner using Abraham Maslow rsquo s Hierarchy of Needs as the main approach. Chris has to struggle to survive in the harsh city of San Francisco while trying to meet his daily life needs. In the end however he manages to cope with all the hardships and succeeds to be a prominent businessman. The outcome of this study indicates that the main character has met all of the types of need stated in Maslow rsquo s hierarchy from the most basic to the highest one that satisfies his topmost need the self-actualization need.
