Understanding paralleling panels on the 1st and 45th volumes of haikyuu manga series / Nur Laili

Abstrak
This research analyzed the paralleling panel in the 1st and 45th volumes of Haikyuu with semiotic analysis to discuss the form caused connection and effect differences between the paralleling panel and a regular panel how the inter-panel connection of the paralleling panel is built and what kind of paralleling relation that paralleling panel could cause. This research examined Haikyuu with the consideration of its high impact during the pandemic. The series has succeeded in encouraging high school teams in Japan to keep practicing volleyball and teach its audiences about volleyball. This research examined Haikyuu with Ni (2011) rsquo s framework that is made to fulfill the needs of comics rsquo examination method. This research shows that paralleling panel has a different form a caused connection and effects on the reader rsquo s reading flow compared to the regular panel. This research also shows that the panels rsquo similarities are the ones that form paralleling relation to connect the past and present occurrences. The delivered paralleling relation has variations as it delivers various meaning such as repetition contrast development/growth and variation.
