Abstrak
Lactic acid is a waste product of energy metabolism which can affect one s physical performance. Consuming alkaline drinks is used to rehydrate the body and young coconut water drinks that contain nutrients can benefit the body especially after intense physical activity. This study aims to determine the comparative effect between consuming alkaline water and coconut water on lactic acid levels after high-intensity activities. This study used the True Experiment method namely K1 (n 13 alkaline water group) and K2 (n 13 coconut water group) high-intensity activity in the form of sprints with a distance of 35 meters for 6 repetitions after the activity immediately drank 350 ml of alkaline water and coconut water the test was carried out Pre-activity and 5 minutes after high-intensity activity was used for posttest t test results are used to determine the significance of differences between each group the mean lactate levels in K1 2.55 plusmn 0.54 mmol / L before activity 6.63 plusmn 2.54 mmol / L after activity and p 0.000 for K2 before activity (3.2 plusmn 0.53 mmol / L) post-activity (8.3 plusmn 3.15) mmol / L and (p 0.000) Based on the test results that have a significance level of 0.00 lt 0.05 it shows that there is a difference between the two groups. 0.05 indicates that there is a significant difference between the performance of each Furthermore an independent sample t-test was conducted to determine whether there was a difference between the two unpaired samples the results of the independent sample t-test showed a 2 -tailed significance value of 0.414% greater than 0.05 which means that there is no significant difference in the effect of consumption of alkaline water and coconut water on lactic acid levels after high-intensity activity.
