Developing narrative text book as reading supplementary material for the Eleventh Graders in MAN Batu / Zaidan Rifdah Mardiansah

Abstrak
This research and development (R amp D) study addressed the need for engaging and effective reading materials for eleventh-grade senior high school students at MAN Kota Batu Indonesia. Recognizing the limitations of existing online resources lacking structure and curriculum alignment and motivated by the absence of prior research on this specific challenge within MAN Kota Batu this project utilized the R amp D model of Borg amp Gall (2003) to develop comprehensive learning materials aligned with Curriculum 2013. Word in Action addresses identified student needs through clear explanations diverse learning activities assessments and a glossary. This book is developed as a textbook that fosters reading comprehension and critical thinking skills by filling a crucial gap in current instructional materials. Developed through a rigorous needs analysis Word in Action offers two differentiated versions a student edition with engaging exercises and a teacher edition with answer keys and teaching guides. It is important to emphasize that this textbook is designed for academic purposes only and is not intended for commercial sale. The book accessibility of the textbook is available in both printable and digital (PDF) formats. By providing structured learning experiences and interactive activities Word in Action has the potential to significantly improve students engagement with narrative texts and equip them with critical thinking skills essential for lifelong learning.
