Measuring receptive and productive vocabulary size level of efl grade twelve students / Fifi Febriani Zulfa Firdaus
Abstrak
This study examines both receptive and productive vocabulary and explores the connection between the two by comparing two groups of students those who took part in English extracurriculars and those who did not. The receptive and productive vocabulary is measured by the new Computer Adaptive Test of Size and Strength (CATSS) created by Aviad-Levitzky Laufer and Goldstein (2019). A correlation analysis performed on both groups indicates a strong correlation between receptive and productive vocabulary in two groups. Students receptive vocabulary of the two samples was higher than their productive vocabulary. Students who participated in English extracurriculars significantly obtained higher scores and a higher vocabulary size level.
