The correlation between students’ grammar ability and their perception of speaking ability / Asifa Inggit Pratiwi
Abstrak
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between students Grammar ability and their perception of Speaking ability at Department of English Universitas Negeri Malang. To collect the data a speaking questionnaire and a grammar test were administred to English Language Education students of 2021 cohort. The results were then analyzed by using SPSS 26. Based on the study results it is evident that a significant correlation exists between the Grammar ability and their perception of Speaking ability. There was a positive correlation between the two variables. The level of correlation is very high correlation. This is supported by the significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) which is less than 0.05 and the r count value (Pearson correlations) exceeds the critical r table value.
