The correlation between frequency of watching english programs and students\' pronunciation / Candra Wijaya

Abstrak
The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between the students frequency of watching English-related programs and their pronunciation at SDIT Ibnu Hajar Balikpapan. For this purpose this study made use of correlational research design. The population was 416 students. The researcher took 50 students of 6th grade as the sample since they were accessible. To determine whether there is a significant relationship between the frequency of watching and the pronunciation the researcher analyzed the data using Simple Linier Regression in SPSS. The outcome was .380 which was a significantly low positive correlation. The contribution of watching frequency was found 14.4% on students rsquo pronunciation ability. It is suggested that video watching is collaborated with various learning strategies to enhance pronunciation ability rather than depending on watching English videos only.
