Ph.D. Keywords Blood Biochemical Profile Flour of Banana Cassava and Corn Liver Microanatomy Structure Malnutrition. Malnutrition occurs when intake of essential nutrients especially protein is less than the body s needs which may disrupt the body s growth and development. Malnutrition represents a major health problem that affects many people especially children and causes deaths worldwide. This study aims to investigate the effect of banana cassava and corn flours to the improvement of blood biochemical profiles and hepar mictoanatomical structure of malnourished rat models. Research method Six groups of seven-week-old adult male Wistar rats were created as follows Group 1 was the control animals which were given normal food with free access to food and water Group 2 Malnutrition animals (Malnutrition Feed). Animal group 3 Malnutrition treatment 1 (normal pellet food). Animal group 4 Malnutrition treatment 2 (MDCF Banana). Animal group 5 Malnutrition treatment 3 (MDCF Cassava). Animal group 6 Malnutrition treatment 4 (MDCF Corn). The rats were humanely euthanized at the conclusion of the treatment blood was collected and livers were removed after being dissected. The results of the current study showed that the group of malnourished rats suffered a significant decrease in blood parameters including RBC/WBC count hematocrit lymphocytes and proteins. It also suffered significant liver damage and disturbances in liver enzymes such as a significant rise in the enzyme level AST and a reduction in the level ALT as well as histopathological changes in the liver compared to the control group. On the other hand treatment with flours of banana cassava corn helped repair the damage that had happen including blood parameters return to normal condation reduced the levels of AST increase the level of ALT also an improvement in histopathological of the liver. The results also indicated that banana cassava and corn flours contain many vitamins minerals and bioactives namely antioxidants such as glycosides flavonoids and phenolic compounds which means that giving the flour of these plants improves the blood biochemical profile liver functions and restores enzyme levels to a normal level.
