Hubungan antara kecepatan membaca dengan tingkat pemahaman isi bacaan cerita siswa kelas 4 di SDN Percobaan 1 Kota Malang / Bintang Putri Pratama

Abstrak
The purpose of this research is to understand the relation between reading speed and level of understanding of the reading content of grade 4 students in SDN Percobaan 1 Kota Malang. The sample of this research is as many as 57 students from classes 4A and 4B. Using a quantitative approach and data collection techniques with skills tests and intelligence tests. The results of this research are that the average student reading speed is 184.877 wpm in the medium category with 24 students reading speed in the slow category 11 students in the medium category 9 students in the fast category and 13 students in the very fast category. the average level of reading comprehension is 79.561 in the good category with 4 students in the moderate comprehension category 31 students in the good comprehension category and 22 students in the very good category. The results of the relationship stated that there was no relationship with a significance of 0.113 which was in the range 0.00-0.20 and the direction of the relationship was positive. The classical assumption tests carried out are Ievene s homogenicity test and the linearity test from TestforLinearity then the Pearson correlation test was carried out to find out whether or not there was a relationship between variables
