Abstrak
This research explores the potential relationship between gender and the perception of color focusing on pink and blue. The research primarily focuses on (1) male and female rsquo s knowledge about pink and blue shades (2) various sources of knowledge that these groups of male and female participants receive regarding the pink and blue shades and (3) their perception and preferences about color specifically pink and blue and its shades. While many studies on color perception and gender utilize a broad and universal range of colors research is needed to concentrate on a narrow and gender-associated palette to ascertain if such colors are indeed gender-specific. This study used survey research method. A random sample of 140 respondents (N 70 men and N 70 women) completed the survey. The results of this study show that women recognize more color shades than men. However when it comes to the sources of knowledge about colors men have a greater variety. Surprisingly the perception of gender towards colors does not align with the common stereotype that women prefer pink. According to this research women prefer blue over pink
