Omparative analysis of slang used in gaming streamer’s twitch and instagram: a qualitative study / Dany Ilzam Haq El Harisy

Abstrak
Slang is the language used in everyday life. However there are still many people who do not understand the meaning of the slang. This makes a concern for myself especially slang is attached to my daily life. This study aims to explain the differences in slang used by most people on the Twitch and Instagram applications focusing only on one streamer or creator (Kai Cenat). Data collection was carried out using the Qualitative Method. The slang data was collected in an Excel folder complete with explanations and with the number of times users used the slang in the data search in the Twitch application. While in the Instagram application the data was collected through the latest comments within 3 weeks of 20 to 30 and focused on the latest 3 to 5 posts. The results of the analysis of the data collected reveal that the two applications are not that different. Each application does have its own slang especially since most Twitch application users come from the gaming community while Instagram users are mostly ordinary people or not focused on any community.
