Synchronously learning is carried out using Microsoft Teams and asynchronous learning is carried out using the Google Classroom and WhatsApp Group applications. The subjects of this study were grade 8A students of SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2020/2021. The researcher collaborated with the English class teacher in conducting the research. The researcher acted as a teacher and the English class teacher acted as an observer who assisted the researcher in the research process in the classroom in the preparation of lesson plans determination of the criteria of success reflection and evaluation and data collection to support research such as in making a list of student interview results a list of student observations and field notes. The implementation of the Scavenger Hunt Game strategy is carried out using a Genre Based Approach (GBA) where this approach has four learning methods namely (1) Building Knowledge of the Field (BKOF) by exploring an example of a personal recount text given by the teacher (2) Modeling of the Text by strengthening the students understanding what a personal recount text is (3) Join Construction of the Text by playing Scavenger Hunt Game and (3) Independent Construction of the Text by writing a personal recount text individually and independently. The researcher applied this approach in each research cycle. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Scavenger Hunt Game as a learning strategy can improve students ability to write personal recount texts very well. The increase in students abilities can be seen from the acquisition of scores that always increase in each cycle calculated from the acquisition of scores in the preliminary study to the final writing. The average score of students in the preliminary study was 55.18 59.23 in the first cycle 68.93 in the second cycle 75.71 in the third cycle and 81.73 at the end of the cycle (final score). In addition to the increase in grades the active role of students in learning is also one of the parameters that the use of Scavenger Hunt Game media is quite promising in increasing students learning motivation. Based on the result of the observation in the application of learning before using the Scavenger Hunt Game student learning enthusiasm level only reached 60% but after the Scavenger Hunt Game was implemented the students rsquo level of enthusiasm increased to 84%. In light of the successful results of the research it is recommended that English teachers especially those who teach in Grade 8 apply the Scavenger Hunt Game by using the media that the researcher has compiled for use in learning so that students skills in writing a personal recount text can be improved and the students are motivated to learn.
