Abstrak
This research aimed to investigate the relationship between morphological awareness and productive vocabulary size among ELE undergraduate students. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational design the study examined 32 ELE undergraduate students from a university in East Java Indonesia selected through purposive sampling method. Morphological awareness tests and productive vocabulary size test were utilized as research instruments. The results unveiled a noteworthy association between morphological awareness and productive vocabulary size as evidenced by a significant value (Sig 2-tailed) of 0.014 lt 0.05. Moreover the correlation coefficient of 0.431 surpassed the critical value of the r table (0.431 gt 0.3494) emphasizing its statistical significance. With a correlation coefficient of 0.431 falling within the -1 to 1 scale this signifies a moderate positive correlation between the two variables. To conclude the present study confirmed a significant correlation between morphological awareness and the size of productive vocabulary among ELE undergraduate students.
