Student’s perception in writing activities in online classroom / Muhammad Thareq Davin Wahyu Ariyono
Abstrak
Students and teachers need to have a certain understanding of each other to have effective classroom activities. The purpose of this article is to investigate the perspectives of the students in writing activities in online class. The method used is quantitative descriptive in nature. In collecting the data the researchers distributed a questionnaire to 38 students from multiple different English writing courses. They were asked to fill out a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire and attend interview questions. The result of the questionnaire shows that students initially responded negatively to the different activities in online classes but they agreed that they learn new skills. Students preferred the idea of online classes better than offline ones. The instructional process of the course seemed to not be conducted well. There are difficulties regarding the number of tasks given and the punctuality of the submission and lecture which hinder the process of learning. They were fortunately helped by the facilities that the university provided including the library.
