Analisis daya saing industri mikro dan kecil untuk meningkatkan ekonomi daerah (kajian perbandingan daya saing industri mikro dan kecil provinsi papua barat dengan provinsi jawa timur) / Nesta Emmanuel Putra
Abstrak
Micro and Small Industries are a significant part of the manufacturing sector contributing substantially to job creation and income distribution. In East Java micro and small industries play a crucial role in the economy both regionally and nationally with diverse sectors such as food crafts textiles and agriculture. In contrast West Papua presents a stark difference with only a few Micro and Small Industry units primarily in the food sector making it one of the provinces with the lowest number of Micro and Small Industries in Indonesia. This study employs the Symmetric Location Quotient (SLQ) Shift-Share Analysis and Klassen Typology methods. The differences in the classification of micro and small industry subsectors between East Java and West Papua reflect the distinct local economic dynamics. East Java exhibits diversity with nearly all subsectors as base subsectors supported by its diverse geographical conditions and natural resources. Conversely West Papua shows specialization in a few base subsectors that utilize local resources and has non-base subsectors with potential for future development reflecting the region s economic potential and challenges. The recommendation from this study is to emphasize more on the specific identification of how geographical characteristics natural resources and other factors influence the classification patterns of micro and small industry subsectors in each province.
