Developing interactive reading E-Module for the fourth graders / Dhea Yuan Sayyidatina
Abstrak
This study is a research and development (R amp D) using the ADDIE (Analysis Design Development Implementation and Evaluation) framework. The needs analysis showed that traditional and monotonous teaching methods were less effective in increasing students engagement in reading English texts which had an impact on their reading ability. The purpose of this study is to develop an interactive reading e-module for fourth grade students that is valid and practical making it feasible to use to increase students engagement in reading activities by integrating multimedia elements such as images audio video and interactive activities. The developed e-module has been validated by course materials expert electronic media expert and teacher and assessed for practicality by students. The results showed that the e-module developed was highly valid with an overall average of 89.93% from the three validators and highly practical with an average of 96.31% from the students assessment. Implementation in the classroom showed a significant improvement in learning quality and received positive responses from students. The use of interactive reading e-modules in learning English reading shows that the integration of technology with multimedia can significantly increase students interactivity in learning.
