The correlation between reading habits and reading achievement of the students in international class program / Anggraini Mutiara Oktavia Damanik

Abstrak
The aim of this research was to observe the correlation between reading habits and reading achievement of the students in the international class program at SMP Lab UM Malang. To collect the data in this quantitative research with correlational research type the researcher used a set of questionnaire and reading tests. In this research the population was the eighth grade students in the International Class Program at SMP Lab UM Malang. The questionnaire has 20 statements and the reading test has eight questions. The researcher found a significance value (Sig.) of 0.001 which is less than 0.05. It means there was a significant correlation between reading habit and reading achievement of the students in international class program at SMP Lab UM Malang. So the results of this research can be used as a motivation for students to always get used to and enrich themselves by improving their reading habits so that they can improve their reading achievement.
