Abstrak
Written by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman Dry is a novel that explores the consequences of a severe water crisis in Southern California. This study focuses on the narrative in depicting the importance of water and how this crisis affects lives in the novel. The novel presents a reality of an essential resource in which access to water becomes a matter of life and death. This study aims to analyze the depiction of water as a vital resource for life. It uses an objective approach to examine the intrinsic elements in the novel in this case focusing on the theme of the importance of water. This analysis is expected to emphasize the importance of water in humans animals and the environment due to the absence of water. The result shows that water is essential to life every living thing needs water. The unavailability of water in this novel greatly affects human life animals and also the environment.
