Students’ attitudes towards the implementation of the numbered heads together strategy in improving their skill in reading narrative texts / Rahmatul Fitri

Abstrak
Attitude is one of the most important aspects influencing students academic achievement. This study explored students attitudes towards the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) strategy in reading narrative texts. This study used a quantitative approach within a survey design. This study also used a questionnaire consisting of 19 statements based on the Likert Scale as the instrument. The questionnaire was distributed across five classes containing about 137 students. The study found that students attitudes were crucial in implementing the NHT strategy as these attitudes affected their performances. Specifically students built their beliefs feelings and behaviors within verbal and non-verbal response modes about NHT contribution function and benefit in understanding the narrative texts easily. It is recommended that teachers should build the students attitudes through the implementation of NHT in learning and improving reading skills.
