Developing english semi audio book as supplementary listening materials using flipped classroom in an agricultural vocational high school / Andrew Ocven Gupawan
Abstrak
This study explores the development of an English podcast semi-audio book designed as supplementary listening materials utilizing the flipped classroom model in an agricultural vocational high school. Recognizing the critical need for effective English language acquisition among vocational students particularly in the agricultural sector this project aims to enhance their listening skills. The flipped classroom approach which inverts traditional classroom methods by delivering instructional content outside the classroom is integrated into the design to maximize in-class practice and engagement. The research methodology employed is Research and Development (R amp D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis Design Development Implementation and Evaluation). The product developed is an English podcast semi-audio book along with users guides for students and teachers. The results of expert evaluations and field trials indicate that the product is well-received as seen from teachers rsquo and students rsquo positive responses and ready for use as an English listening instructional material in this study setting. In conclusion the semi audiobook e-module for 20 students from tenth-grade agricultural vocational high school students is successfully designed and validated to help their English language knowledge and skills. Following expert evaluations and student try outs the final analysis confirmed that the semi audiobook e-module based on the Flipped Classroom method is suitable practical and engaging as seen from the tryout results. The positive outcomes from the student during tryouts indicate that the e-module significantly aids their learning in listening skills and offers accessible content. Additionally the module s inclusion of agricultural examples enhances its relevance and utility for students future after they graduate. Future researcher can use and apply this agricultural audiobook module in different context and settings and see its effectiveness in learning English. They can explore how it works in different subjects and schools find ways to make it even better and easier to use. In addition it is suggested to develop an e-module that focuses on audio visual instead of only listening material.
