Abstrak
This pre-experimental study investigates the impact of Storyline Online a digital storytelling (DST) platform on essay writing performance among the English Language Education (ELE) students. This study involved 31 students from the 2022 cohort at a state university in Malang who specifically have taken the essay writing course in the English Language Education program. To evaluate the impact of the intervention the data were collected through pre-test conducted before the intervention and post-test conducted afterward. The result indicates a significant improvement in students rsquo essay writing performance highlighting the effectiveness of the DST platform in educational context especially writing. This study not only demonstrates the potential of digital storytelling as an innovative educational tool but also provides valuable insights into its practical application for enhancing students rsquo essay writing abilities. Overall the study underscores the beneficial impact of utilizing digital tools like Storyline Online in educational settings suggesting that such innovations could lead to more effective and engaging language learning experiences.
