Exploring Students\' Perceptions and Motivation in Utilizing Er-Central in an Extensive Listening Program / Ram Siti Nurandini
Abstrak
The current research investigates the perceptions and motivation of undergraduate English department students at a state university in Malang regarding the utilization of the ER-Central website an online platform offering graded listening resources to enhance independent learning within the Extensive Listening (EL) Program. This research employs the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) to explore the four aspects of technology acceptance and student motivation from the perspective of learners. This research utilized a questionnaire to gather quantitative data from 36 students who have utilized ER-Central for one semester. The findings of this research indicate that students have positive perceptions regarding performance expectancy effort expectancy social influence and facilitating conditions when utilizing ER-Central. Furthermore the level of autonomous regulation surpassed that of controlled regulation emphasizing the significance of intrinsic motivation for utilizing this type of online language learning platform. Consequently digital platforms like ER-Central can be utilized in self-directed language learning initiatives to enhance engagement and outcomes. This research contributes to EFL by highlighting the critical roles of intrinsic motivation and technology usability in supporting independent learning.
