Effectiveness of PBLPOE model on critical thinking skills of elementary school students / ANISA WAHYU KUSUMANINGTYAS
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the researcher s curiosity related to the PBLPOE model. So this study seeks to find out (1) whether there are differences in students critical thinking skills before and after the application of the PBLPOE model in experimental science learning (2) are there differences in students critical thinking skills before and after the application of the conventional model namely Quantum Learning in science learning in the control class (3) how effective is the PBLPOE model on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students . From this a quantitative approach of the quasi experimental type is used. Data was collected by test essay questions. Then for the formulation of research problems 1 and 2 it was tested using the Paired Sample T-test with a record of passing the prerequisite test. Meanwhile for the formulation of research problem 3 was tested using Cohen s d effect size with the note that there was a difference during the Independent Sample T-test. In the test of the formulation of research problems 1 and 2 the result was the same namely 0.000. The significance value is lt 0.05 which means there is a difference. The results were also the same as the Independent Sample T-test with a Cohen s d effect size test value of 1.105. Based on the formulation of research problem 3 this means that the PBLPOE model has proven to be effective with a large level of effectiveness compared to the conventional model namely Quantum Learning on critical thinking skills.
