Analysis of character education values in the novel student hidjo / Qiyamu Fiaini
Abstrak
Character education has become a crucial issue in the global education world. As a subject taught in schools history has the potential to instill character education values. Character strengthening in history learning can be implemented by utilizing literary works in the form of novels. Student Hidjo which is a work by Mas Marco Kartodikromo can be one of the novels used not just as a fictional novel but also as one that represents various values of character education through its plot character depiction and the series of dialogues and narratives. This research aims to identify the character education values present in the novel Student Hidjo and demonstrate its relevance as a means to strengthen students character by internalizing it into history lessons using a qualitative approach and content analysis technique. From the results of this research it is known that there are 6-character education values namely 1) faith in God Almighty piety and noble character 2) critical thinking 3) mutual cooperation 4) creativity 5) independence and 6) global diversity.
