Second-year students’ difficulties and strategies in writing assignments for english reading fiction / Bianda Alzena Benyamin

Abstrak
Writing has become one difficult thing for students especially in writing assignments for English reading fiction. There are various factors of difficulties faced and it needs strategies to overcome it. The purposes of this research are to investigate the difficulties faced by the second-year students and the strategies that the students used to overcome their difficulties in writing assignments for English reading fiction especially in writing essays for prose analysis. This research used qualitative research and a case study method. The instruments used interview observation and documentation. The essays written by the students were made into magazine projects. The results indicated that the students rsquo difficulties in writing essays for prose analysis were found that the most students have difficulty in grammar and the strategies that the most students used were mind mapping and keep practicing.
