The correlation between english vocabulary mastery and writing ability among efl junior high school students / Fina Rohmatul Jaliilah
Abstrak
This research aims to find the correlation between English vocabulary mastery as the predictor variable and writing ability among EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Junior High School students as the outcome variable. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population used was 8 classes of 7th grade from SMPN A Malang with a total of 240 students. The sample used was 2 classes that is classes 7F and 7H with a total of 64 students. The research instruments were a vocabulary test and a writing test. The analysis technique used was Pearson product Moment correlation. The results show that there is a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and writing ability in writing description text in grade 7 at SMPN A Malang with a value of 0.602. The conclusion is Ha accepted.
