Abstrak
The fast progress of artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming numerous facets of life including education. AI is expected to replace many low-skilled jobs including office administration raising concerns about the diminishing role of human workers in this field.This study seeks to examine the influence of technological readiness and digital competence on AI adoption among office administration students with perceived ease of use as a mediating factor. Unlike previous research which primarily focused on accounting and libraries this study fills a gap by exploring AI adoption in office administration education a relatively under-researched area. This study utilized an explanatory research design with a quantitative methodology utilizing surveys. The data were analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Findings show that technology readiness significantly influences perceived ease of use which in turn enhances AI adoption. Higher technological readiness leads to a greater perception of AI as easy to use encouraging adoption. Digital competence positively influences perceived ease of use but it does not affect AI adoption directly. But it indirectly influences AI adoption through perceived ease of use. This study substantiates the critical role of perceived ease of use in AI adoption among college students. This study contributed theoretically by expanding the knowledge on digital competency and AI adoption. It emphasizes the importance of technology readiness and highlights the perceived ease of use s significant role in facilitating AI adoption in office administration education.
