Design and construction of quail feeding automation system using iot technology and nutrition mixing / DEMAS HADI PAMUNGKAS
Abstrak
This study aims to design and implement an automated quail feeding system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) integrated with a nutrient mixing mechanism. The system employs an ultrasonic sensor to monitor feed levels and four servo motors to control the flow from intake mixing to final feed distribution automatically. The design outcomes indicate that the system operates according to specifications with centralized control via a microcontroller and stable accurate servo responses. The integration of the nutrient mixing system was evaluated based on mixing duration and blend quality. The optimal result was achieved at a duration of 150 seconds producing a homogeneous mixture demonstrating the system rsquo s capability to mix feed thoroughly. The entire process operates automatically and is supported by real-time monitoring ensuring efficient and consistent nutrient distribution. In terms of effectiveness the system successfully performs scheduled automatic feeding with an average delay of only 3 ndash 4 seconds. Accuracy testing of feed measurement revealed a low error rate (1 ndash 3%) still within the acceptable tolerance range of plusmn 5 grams. Thus the developed system has proven to be effective precise and adaptable to small-scale feed automation needs with potential for broader application in larger-scale poultry farming operations.
