Effectiveness of “elgase” learning media on science literacy skills in grade viii junior high school students / Aprillia Dwi Arifianti
Abstrak
Science learning in Indonesia faces challenges in improving students science literacy skills which are often still low. In this context this study analyzed the effectiveness of ldquo ELGASE rdquo learning media on science literacy skills of grade VIII junior high school students. The method in this study was pre-experimental involving 22 grade VIII students. Data were obtained through observation testing and documentation collection methods then analyzed using normality test as well as N-Gain test to evaluate score changes. The results showed that the use of ldquo ELGASE rdquo media provided a significant increase in students science literacy skills. This improvement is measured through a nonparametric test (Wilcoxon) which indicates the difference or comparison of pretest and posttest scores on each indicator. From this study presented the results of the SPSS N-Gain value for the first indicator is 0.07982 (79%) the second indicator is 0.5873 (58%) and the third indicator is 0.9213 (92%). The conclusion of this research is that the ldquo ELGASE rdquo media is proven effective in improving students science literacy skills and can be recommended for use in science learning.
